It could be a dead animal in the wall. That is what they smell like. Dead mice and rats can smell for quite a while like 3-6 months.
Is there a way to get under the house - maybe it is there.
There is an enzyme spray that can remove the smell. I don't know the name of it.
Getting rid of the source is the best solution rather than to cover it up.

While I do not know how long you have lived there, did the previous owners or do you have a pet? Could they be urinating in the corner or could the smell be just starting to come back out?
It very well could be a dead something in the wall to smell like that.
did you look under the couch? Down the cracks of the couch?
What kind of heater is it you are using? Is it gas? Is it leaking? What is outside on the house in this area?
Good luck finding your stink!

Could very well be a rodent or even a squirrel. These animals have very specific areas designated as a toilet. I know because one decided to use the insulation in my stove as a toilet and every time I heated up the oven the stench was unbearable. It could also be a dead animal. Doesn't matter how big an animal is it will produce a horrible Oder when in a state of decay. I once had a Madagascar hissing cockroach and when it died I was amazed how much it smelled to be such a small creature. Anyhow, good luck in discovering what it is.

Musty or Musky? Musty, their is hidden moisture somewhere. Get a spray bottle and put some apple cider vinegar in it and spray it lightly along the baseboards, under the bed, in the window sill. One or two sprits in the middle of the room and on the bed won't hurt. Musky, LUST is in the air. How old are you? Are you going through puberty? Do you have a crush on someone? Do you masterbate? It's all part of nature, yes it's natural! After being in your room for a period of time the musk smell is less noticeable, simply because you adjust to it. Leaving the room and then returning, the odors linger. Sprits some vinegar like mentioned for Musty odors, start bathing regularly and wearing deodorant.

I had that smell in a house and thought it was a dead rat in the wall. It turned out to be smoldering insulation from a badly installed electrical outlet.
I hired a pest control guy who found it for me
Being near the heater sounds like it could be a dead rat. Get a pest control guy to come.

Could be a dead mouse. They smell pretty nasty when they're dead. I say move everything you can out of the room and air it out a bit and then start ripping apart the wall if it's still there.
