It should be legal. We treat our pets with more compassion and respect by putting them to sleep when their quality of life is gone. Should we ask less for human beings!! There is too much political and religious interference. Put it in the hands of the individual - let them choose the how and the when and who will help. Then, it won't be abused.

That's a toughie.
I'm going to have to go with illegal. If someone is suffering a whole lot, they are probably not in a vegetative state so they could find a way to take their own life if they really wanted to. Not that I would do that.. I like livin'..

Illegal. Too much potential for abuse.
I believe that assisted suicide should be legal. But it should always be the person ending their own life, not someone else doing it for them.

Euthenasia refers to someone ending the life of someone else. Living wills allow someone to describe the circumstances under which s/he wants his/her life ended; powers of attorney specifies which person should make critical life/death decisions WHEN THE PERSON IS UNABLE TO MAKE THOSE DECISIONS HIM/HERSELF. People should have the right to be taken off life support systems when life is unbearable and useless, but only someone else authorized to make that decision should be allowed to do so.
It is also important that these decisions be made rationally , not out of fear of suffering pain that could be relieved.

You should have qualified this question.
As the son of a man that had to listen to my father crying EVERY NIGHT; screaming himself to sleep (when he could) for seven years, you would be able to answer his question yourself,
