I couldn't tell you if the show is 100% reliable. Of course they can't test every variation of every myth they have tested for safety reasons as well as legal ones (i.e. cell phones on a plane). Despite whether they label the myths they have tested as "Busted" "Confirmed" or "Plausable", I would have to say that the ones that are labeled busted and plausable should be labeled as all plausable. Just the right time and right place, ANYTHING can happen. Under the right conditions, a port-a-potty can blow up while the occupant is *ahem* using the facilities and smoking at the same time, or Pirates could have been killed from the shrapnel coming from the wooden planks during a cannon fight. Its ALL plausable, unless confirmed.

Is Myth busters reliable? Not really but it is a good start. Can a cell phone generate a spark to ignite gas fumes. NO. But don't tell soccer mom. The spark is caused by static and the static is causes by plastic and, or clothing rubbing against the interior, and then being discharged agaist the metal panels.

i do not find myth busters all that reliable because they do not always test all the variables, which means no scene can be perfectly recreated. for example, mayeb the temp. of the day plays a role, the phone itself etc.

They go above and beyond. If you think there is flaws in the tests, tell them. But at least they don't just accept hearsay as facts.

I don't know. It's a fun show and Jamie has a great butt that's fun to watch. Don't take anything you see on TV with such seriousness.

absolutly not reliable
they don't even re-create the situations or circumstances exactly as they exist or were thought to exist in real life situation or myth
if they can't re-create a situation exactly.......they should not bother, how would one ever know for sure if it would ever be "reliable."
