Rumsfeld was the point man or the press conference guy for team B. there was even the advantage of hindsight. everything about team B's findings had been proven to be completely wrong.... a fairy tale. even Time magazine was aware of it.

"According to Dr. Anne Cahn (Arms Control and Disarmament Agency, 1977-1980), Team B's analysis of weapons systems was later proven to be false. "I would say that all of it was fantasy... if you go through most of Team B's specific allegations about weapons systems, and you just examine them one by one, they were all wrong."

Oh what a tangled web we weave when at first we practice to deceive. Ever hear of the Halloween massacre during the Ford administration? VP Cheney, Rumsfeld and Bush Sr. go back a long way together. I think you'll find this interesting. It also gives an overview of his antics going back many years and his in-fighting before the Iraq invasion. This is what republicans support and I bet many of them are completely unaware of just how dirty this administration has been all along and just how long Rumsfeld and the VP have been at this sort of thing. Read it and weep or read it and enjoy.

Yep. Live and (not) learn.

Also, look into the hearings on FISA from the 1970s.

Bush Sr., Cheney and Rumsfeld argued that there should be an exception that allowed the executive to conduct warrantless wiretapping. Congress went it enacted FISA refused to carve out such an exception.

30 years later, Bush Jr., Cheney and Rumsfeld went ahead and ignored the law to do exactly what Congress told them they were not allowed to do.

Yes, history repeated itself with Iraq. Now Cheney's talking really big about Iran and doing the same sort of thing he started out with when talking about Iraq. Doesn't the same story and excuses get old by the 3rd time around? I would like to know who will believe him by the time Bush and Cheney do bomb Iran.
