How would you calculate this ratio?
3.612 x 10 (to the 14th power): 39.0 x 10 squared
Anyone who could help out would be wonderful!

3.612*10^14/3.9*10^3 ( changed it to 3.9 * 10^3 because in scientific notation their should only be one digit before the decimal)
so divide the numbers and subtract the exponents
0.92615x10^11
no so that the first digit is correct we change it to
9.2615 x 10^10

the powers in division subtract so your final power of 10 is 14-2 or 12. the other numbers you just divide.

You know how you can cancel the 2s out in the following ratio?: (2x3)/2x4

You can do the same thing with the 10s!
