It depends. If it was some teenage girl stuffing cosmetics in her shirt, yes, but if it was some obviously homeless person taking food, maybe not. It would depend on what was taken and what my mood is.

Ha! I just saw on channel 7 news that the channel 14 weather girl was arrested and convicted of shoplifting. It was all the announcer could do not to crack up.
Shame on thieves!

Yes and I have. I really don't care to pay for what they've stolen. The merchant has to raise the prices because of shoplifters.

I have been in a store when people shoplifted, its really disturbing to watch, most of the time, store security is already on them, which is funny to watch them try to act casual about it lol... but no I would not turn them in, I don't feel like its my place... and they will carry that burden with them anyway.

YES. If you turn them in you are doing them a huge favor....those who shoplift and think they are lucky because no one turns them in are criminals and one step away from jail or prison. The laws are getting tougher and tougher and I'm happy for that!

I have in the past if what they were shoplifting could be sold to get drugs. If they were shoplifting something to eat and not in mass quantities I usually don't. I have been homeless and hungry and you do what you got to do. I sometimes offer to pay for something if I see them so they don't get caught and go to jail.

When I'm shopping, I don't shoplift before a mirror. Without it, how can I see me shoplifting?
Then, why should I turn myself in? :-)
