PayPal doesn't seem to address this in much detail anywhere on their website. I've never used PayPal before and I'm thinking of using it to send $40 or $50 to someone. If I sign up and get a PayPal account and then 'email' them the money then what happens from there?
How hard of a process it it (and how long does it take) for them to receive that money? Timing is an issue here - it needs to be FAST and uncomplicated or forget it.

You have to set up an account with an email address and the person you are sending it to has to have an account with an email address. You click send money and then you put in the receivers email address and then send. It is a real quick process. When you sign up for an account you have to use either a credit card, debit card, or bank account to send the money from. I hope this helps!

You sign up, give them your bank account info, they verify it. That takes a few days. Then you sign on and enter the email of the person getting the money, who also has to have an account, tell them how much and it is done.
They draft your account and transfer it to the other persons paypal account. They will also deduct a fee from their account and if it isn't a business account they will change it to one.
There are options to paying paypal instead of from your bank for money under $250. I think.

It may be easier to sign up for online banking with your bank
Then all you have to do is enter their name in the accts along with their address, zip and phone. Enter the amount to send and send it. Takes about 2-4 days. If you really want fast, put a money order in an overnight envelope from FedEx or the PO.Cost is about $12.00. That is the quickest way, for sure.

I have used paypal for years....it really is simple...if they have a paypal account, and you get one too..even easier.
Paying with paypal is instant if you have funds in your paypal account....so when you start your account i suggest adding funds, takes about 4 to 5 business days....if your friend gets their account set up then you just send money....
Remember in order for it to be instant, you must have funds in paypal account.
So if this needs to be instant, i am affraid you are out of luck, maybe western union.
