To the extent that Daniel Boone thought at all about the government that was an overseer to a vast quantity of land [Boone was much more a wonderful and devoted family man than he was a political man, and he ran small and medium-sized businesses], he would have thought about state government--to him, the relevant large government. The United States government, to him, was sort of like what the United Nations is to us today--something to be recognized and taken seriously, but not real relevant to our lives.

Daniel Boone fought in the American Revolution as a militia officer. Since he risked his life for the formation of the new government it would appear he was in favor of it.

he was cool with it as long as they didn't make him pay so many taxes that he couldn't buy a new coon skin cap every once in awhile
