They'll grow back. The cat won't lose his sense of smell but he may have off balance for a while. Cats use their whiskers to determine whether they can fit in an opening also.

Has it fallen out or is it just droopy? If it is droopy, that could be a difficult position to maintain. If it has fallen out... I'd use it to tickle people. Just find someone with opposable digits and you could have some fun :)
