It use to be bars were a big "no no" but now it's cyberspace. I have met lots of ladies just from going out and doing everyday things. I'm very open and like to chitchat. Most think I'm flirty but I just call it being a nice ole guy. If you dont' have an outgoing personality online might be a better option, but do your homework Learn how to read people by they way they chat and what they say. Good Luck

I find it amusing that so many people believe that "marriage thru chatting in cyber space" is out of the realm of probability.
Why is it that, as internet consumers, we are inundated with horror stories of cyber space relationships yet real life accounts of new found love and happiness are buried on the back pages or non-existent? Is it because "dirty laundry" sells and people are generally not interested in hearing or reading about feel good true to life experiences?
For those who actually pursue their dreams and not sit back waiting for the knight in white armor to magically appear, they are discovering that cyber space is and can be very fertile ground for meeting and developing a relationship with a soul mate.
Of course, take precautions and educate yourself on the dangers of predators, pedophiles, stalkers, trolls and other crazies out there (online) looking to stomp on people who are vulnerable to the situation. And by all means, be yourself and be real.
Before joining any kind of internet specialty "courting/dating" community website, it might be advisable to ask your friends and/or acquaintances for referrals on websites they have used and trust.

If you are going to meet with somebody make sure it is in a public place, just to be safe. I actually met my wife this way. We have been together for over 10 years (7 of it as husband and wife) and we have two kids. Just know that you will need to get to know the person in person before you make any decisions. You don't learn a whole lot from a person through a computer, but it can be a good way to at least start meeting people.

First, don't try. Second, you have no idea of what you are getting for a life partner. Third, the cyber buddie can tell you anything about anything. It does not have to be true or real. Fourth, there are lots of kooks out there - check out some of the Yahoo Answers. Fifth, enjoy the Yahoo conversation and accept it for what it is. MySpace is worse. You get what you pay for and don't bet your life on it.

Nothing wrong with cyber space, but try meeting people where you live and work.

I've found a boyfriend through the 360s. It was a coincidence - I wasn't really out to look for one, but he just passed by chance. Then we built it up over instant messenger.

Well, people do it everyday, but I wouldn't do it! Too scary and risky in my opinion... But hey.. it is 2007 and we are living in a hightech world. I guess try E-Harmony or some type of online dating service. Or you could try Myspace.. but again...too SCARY in my opinion!

Very bad idea. People only present their best sides or made up sides on line.
