Steinbeck had a simple, straightforward style of storytelling which he based somewhat on Hemingway's simple style of writing for the masses using simple vocabulary and a lot of dialogue. Therefore you could say Hemingway had a similar style - although not identical. I also think that Faulkner's style is comparable, although Faulkner is a little more advanced than Steinbeck and tends to use stream of consciousness techniques quite a bit. You might enjoy reading As I Lay Dying. That is a remarkable book and a great introduction to Faulkner. Pax - C

Steinbeck's realism style is similar to Theodore Dreiser's style in An American Tragedy and Sister Carrie.

*Gulps, thoroughly awed ecclesiastes* i think of of this a marvellous humble and stable tribute from a suitable and blessing strategies-set and that i placed my palms on an identical time after posting this `thank you` as I even have not learn Steinbeck for years yet learn that as a young guy or lady and grew to grow to be into a great deal bowled over then as your poem bowls me over now.
