The 4 worst are:

4. Jimmy Carter: Look in the dictionary under ineptness and you'll see his picture.

3. Lyndon B. Johnson: Gave us the welfare state and got us half-involved in a war he didn't believe in.

2. "Dishonest Abe" Lincoln: Our only military dictator who ruled supremely by fiat. Shat on the Constitution and raised an army to make war on his own people ( still our bloodiest war ever.)

1. Franklin D. Roosevelt: Let the genie out of the socialism bottle. Elected for 2 extra unconstitutional terms. Allied the U.S. with the second most evil, murderous dictator in Earth's history -- Stalin -- to defeat the third worst -- Hitler
( Mao Tse Tung was worst f.y.i. ) Actually liked Stalin better than Churchill! Sacrificed Eastern Europe to the red menace; millions died in the decades to follow.

Actually the president with the lowest approval rating was Harriet Truman. But he is known as one of the top ten presidents in US history. I wasn't around during the Carter years or the Lincoln years. So it might be unwise to jump to conclusions.

Jimmy Carter, I can't think of anything he accomplished. The guy was such a lame "leader".
I'll have to agree that Clinton comes a close second, the guy could lie with a straight face. Not to mention his total lack of morals.

Probably Ulysses S Grant for messing up Reconstruction after the Civil War and being one of the most corrupt presidents of all time. He was a good general not a good politician.

'Worst' can have a lot of meanings. I think Andrew Jackson's legacy has probably had the most far-reaching and intractible negative effects upon American politics.

Well, the country was doing well during the Clinton years. W goes on vacation until 9/12. We then have the backing of the entire world until our de de de president decides to go attack Iraq without world support, approve torture, take away civil liberties, increase national debt astronomically, divide the country and insure the world hates us.

George Worst Bush...

The two who were impeached: Andrew Johnson who nearly undid the Reconstruction after the Civil War and Bill Clinton who slashed our military and defense funding, had the armed forces run from every engagement, segregated the intelligence services and put the country up to be attacked on 9/11.
