Nope...why would I? If it's a good book/movie that invokes strong emotion, that just means that the person/people who wrote it did their job. I cried at the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Order of the Phoenix, and Half-Blood Prince. I think JK Rowling is the best author of our time. As for movies....I cry EVERY TIME I watch "My Girl" with Anna Chlumsky and Macaulay Culkin. Every time. Not even just at the part where Macaulay dies, but as soon as I realize that's what I'm watching, even if it's the very beginning of the movie, I'll sit there and cry through the whole thing. I love that movie.

Yes, I feel very silly crying during movies and reading books. I think to myself, "Man, there are so many worse things going on in the world. This is fiction and no one is getting hurt or anything. Real people are starving, being murdered, dying of disease etc. Cry about them!" It makes me feel particularly silly when I think about how I am a grown man. Grown men shouldn't cry!

No, I don't feel silly if the book/movie is intended to make you cry, but if it was a book of comedy ofcourse I would. The movie The Notebook makes me cry. Have a nice day.

I don't feel silly. It's a natural human emotion to cry.

I think if a movie has made me cry, it's a good film.

I dont think its silly. when I first saw Steel Magnolias, I cried like a baby during the cemetary scene, then to my suprise, I was laughing through my tears at the part when they tried to cheer Sally Field's character up. This, to me, is good when a movie can touch your emotions like that.

Not at all..I cry at a lot of movies and when I read many books. Sometimes certain commercials even bring a tear to my eye!

No, but do become annoyed when it's an emotional cheap shot, like a dog getting hit by a car, or in Pay It Forward when the kid gets stabbed...
