Does anyone know any Cherokee Name? My husband is full cherokee and when we have a kid i want to be able to give my child some heritage from his/her father.

For a girl i was thinking Aiyana. The name was on a website and was listed under native american names.
if it is a boy it is definately going to be Joseph ---- (something) because all of my husbands family names their boys Joseph then use their middle names.

thanks in advance

If your husband is FBI Cherokee (fullblood) as you say....than he should not be looking on line for names.....he should know the traditional way to go about that..........and someone mentioned the name Sequoyah ... siquoya .....I would think twice about that....unless you want to have your child thought of as lame or pigs foot?....it is a condition....websites on here are full of "WRONG" info people.....they put stuff on there and its wrong!.....I don't know many FBI Cherokee that are young....most are up in age.......if your husband wants to give name should do it traditional way.....and he should know what that is.......Maybe he should look for his people and do it the right way.......find out which "Band" he belongs to ...talk with the elders....he shouldn't take the easy road.....If he is Cherokee....he needs to go to his people......

If he's FBI then he knows the rules. YOU don't get to pick that name, the ELDERS will give the child a name.

Pronunciation has a lot to do with it. Instead of meaning "spring dawn" you might be saying something like "fresh elk droppings"
