There are no AMD or Intel computers, just AMD and Intel processors and chipsets. AMD processors are currently value for money. Intel's Core2 Duo is the better performer but more expensive.

AMD is a graphics based processor, so it handles images and games better. Intel is a text based processor, so it handles text better, such as older operating systems like DOS. AMD also typically clocks out faster then Intel processors. but AMD's run hotter then Intel.
