In Greek mythology, there were beings that had the hind legs, horns and ears of a goat and the torso and head of a man. They were called satyrs, and they didn't live in rainforests because Greece doesn't have any rainforests. There were also centaurs, which had the upper torso of humans, and a horse's body. They also did not reside in rainforests.

I think they were called centaurs, but their entire lower half was that of an animal, probably goat. It must be from mythology, either Greek or Roman.
