About skunks - after they finish spraying do they then have no more 'perfume' to spray right away again? Or do they take time to make more?

A skunk usually has enough musk for about a half dozen sprays, and after that will take about ten days to reproduce that amount of musk again.

Of course, not every skunk nor spray is the same. Some skunks spray more, some have smaller reservoirs, and even the odor can vary depending on their diet, metabolism, and the like. They are no more identical than people are, even if we have trouble telling the difference between them sometimes!

Skunks have "Stink Bags"...they have a neverending supply of that nasty smelling stuff but 9 times out of 10, they only use it in defense. You can walk right by one and make no sudden moves and it won't use it. It's only is you come directly at it or it feels threatened in some way that it will use the spray. However, if you can catch a baby skunk (which I wouldn't recommend cuz thats just mean), and take it to a vet and have the stink bag removed...it's a 100X better pet than a dog.
