If you don't rotate, then you will shorten the life of the tires and have to replace them sooner. The tires by the engine will wear faster because of supporting more weight. Especially if you have front wheel drive.
Nothing drastic will happen, but you will be spending more on tires over the long run, if you fail to rotate. It is also a good idea to have the tires balanced when you rotate them too.
The main idea being to increase the life of the tire by reducing wear.
Good luck.

Most of the time you regularly rotate your tires by putting your front right to your back left and vice versa. But you probably have directional tires on your rims. This means that those specific tires can only roll in one direction. That is why your front right is on your back right.Look closely on your tires if they say directional tires with an arrow pointing in the direction they actually roll in.Then the mechanic did a good job.If they don't say that then he was just being lazy.

Tire rotation simply balances the wear. If your car is in perfect allignment, you can in theory never rotate your tires and still have good life from them. You will still have a differing wear due to the front and rear tires but you can simply replace them two at a time instead of them all at once. HOWEVER real world conditions make rotating your tires a good idea because of imperfect allignment, and uneven weight distribution will cause tires to wear unevenly and you may have a case where your right front tire is bad and the rest are good if you have never rotated them.

When tires are new and are very square on the edges- there should not be any pulling -if they are never rotated you get something called cornering wear-cars like balance it's just part of maintaining your car- next set of tires make sure you stay on top of the cars maintenace- will save you money in the long run.

It is very important and would stay on that. If you do not rotate your tires you will wear out the inside of your tires and not only that but thats when you start to miss align your front end which then leads to front end problems. So I would say that rotating your tires would be very safe, smart and will be very cheap in the future.

The purpose of rotating tires is so they wear evenly. Front tires wear differently than rear tires. This will help your tires last longer. Rotate them every 3000 miles or so.

its best to rotate your tires every 7500 miles (2 1/2 oil changes) if you don't you could run the risk of having to get new tires constantly. this could happen because they dont get to wear down evenly

Your tires will wear unevenly--it's worth it and it doesn't cost that much. Look for coupon specials or places that will throw in a free Rotation when you get a service that you'll have to get anyhow.

To obtain maximum milleage from your tires, you should rotate them every 3000 miles. It does not really matter if you do not have expensive tires, or if you have more money than brains.
