Didn't they learn anything from 9/11
Didn't they form the office of Homeland Security
And no one in that department or at the DoD cares that there is roughly 5,000 miles of open borders for a terrorist to sneak in and walk across with a radioactive bomb or a biological weapon?
Open Borders + Terrible FEMA Response = a lot of dead Americans

Michael B below thinks our open borders are a moot point!
The fact our Government has warned of a non specific attack this summer - meaning they don't know where it will come from!
But Michael B thinks our open borders is a moot point

The borders to this country are a moot point at this juncture in time. There are already 12 million potential terrorist in this country illegally.
If the government was serious about securing the borders then the United States Army would be on the border and trespassers would be dealt with like the invaders they really are.
The costs wold be enormous. For 5000 miles of border you would need 10,000 watch posts ( one for every half mile ), and 10,000 Browning .50cal sniper rifles. Not to mention the expense of training 30,000 snipers to the proficiency required to make a 3000 yard shot.
But shoot them you say?!?!?!?!? How politically incorrect!!!!! BINGO!!!! Politics are the problem to begin with. If the LAW was enforced, then there wouldn't be any problem to begin with.
Read the whole answer before making assumptions. I am for securing the border, WITH THE ARMY, to prevent any MORE terrorist from entering. THe border has been open for decades, hence the moot point statement.

The 19 Saudi terrorists did not come in from either Canada or Mexico, so your idea is ---- you want to build a big fence, with maybe --- what --- guard dogs and barbed wire?
Despite the big boon that would be for Canadian steel exports, I think that would be a terrible waste for your country.
Terrorists will enter the way they came last time, they buy a regular plane ticket and act just like every other passenger. Then they pass customs & immigration, maybe even apply for work visas while they plot their evil plots.
The real solution for terrorism is improved police work and police cooperation, as UK, Canada, Europe and even your own country are proving. The army is not the answer.
Police are doing a better job at catching terrorists before they act. Support them in their effort.

We weren't, we aren't and were not going to be as long as our military is on overseas adventures and not at home defending us.
We should do what every other country in history has done. Put our military on the borders. What's the big deal? Bring them home from the 70 odd countries they are deployed in defending corporate interests, not the peoples. They should be defending us, not some corporate guano plant in the republic of Vanuatu, etc., etc.
And no they didn't learn anything from 9/11 becuse their corporate patrons don't make money defending you and me.
We are expendable, corporate profits and bonuses for powerful rich people that support campaigns and lobbyists are not. Get it now?

It's not.
bush stood by and did NOTHING on 9/11 as the terrorists attacked America.
Perhaps that is also his border strategy?

If our "morons" in D.C. decided to SERIOUSLY close the borders, it could be done in ONE day. Sealed and secured.
But we are talking about the biggest group of f*ck ups in the entire world, so you know that's not going to happen. Those imbeciles couldn't take care of a wet dream.
Wide open borders =
Terrorism for us
Future votes for democrats
$$$$$$$$$$$ for republicans

Go ahead. Ask George Bush why he didn't seal our border on 9/12, or even why they aren't sealed today. The attack happened on his watch and he has failed to protect American borders.
