I have been charting my BBT's for 3 months/cycles now...(my average luteal phase is like 10-12 days) I have been having many early pregnancy symptoms...cramps, tender breasts, nausea, decreased appetite, nasal congestion, bleeding gums, constipation (sorry TMI!) etc... No sign of implantation on chart but temp is still elevated, I ovulated on CD 18.

I took a First Response EPT, this afternoon...(I know FMU is best, but I forgot, this morning.) It was negative...What are the odds I just tested too soon, and could still get a positive, in a day or two????

If AF doesn't show up by thursday, and if i'm still getting neg. HPT's, I'll get a blood test. But I was just curious had anyone had a neg HPT at 10 DPO, and then a positive one later????

You're testing pretty early. Although it is possible to get a pos. this early, it's not common. Wait until the day of your expected period at least. I wouldn't go into the doc until 14 days after your expected period.

My AF is due around the same time as yours and I, too, have used 3 hpt's already. This morning's test was also negative. I think I got a bit of an evaporation line, but it was hard to see. I've never got one of those before so I'm hoping it means that I just tested too soon. I am hoping that my bfp shows up before Valentine's Day so that I can surprise my husband. We've been trying since we got married 8 years ago and this would be the perfect Valentine's gift. My breasts and gums have also been more sensitive than usual. The gums thing is really odd for me since I'm a dental assistant and take very good care of my teeth. Here's hoping. My fingers are crossed for you!!! =)

I'd hold off for a bit longer than Thursday, if you can handle the wait. (I usually couldn't!) If you have more than 18 BBT's over the cover line, it's an almost guaranteed sign of pregnancy.

I'd been trying for two years, and all the negative tests were making *me* quite negative, too! I eventually went to testing only after 15 dpo with constantly elevated high temperatures. It kept me from going on the TTC roller coaster too often.

P.S. The BBT thing can often be more accurate than a pregnancy test, anyway. :)

Well since you know your luteal phase length, you will know if on 13dpo if your temps are still up if you are pregnant. If the test was a very sensitive test then it could be posiitve at 10dpo (mine was positive at 7dpo with my first pregnancy) but most are not and you should wait a few more days. I'm 10dpo and am too scared to check. I have a 12 day luteal phase, so hopefully we both skip our periods this week. Good luck.

Hi,
I got a negitive test 10 DPO but i was sure i was pregnant, so i took another test 4 days later (1 day after AF due)and it was a very strong positive!

I tested positive with a First Response Test a week before my expected period... and I took the test in the evening. I think it is possible though that it might show up in a couple of days if you are pregnant. However... I think it probably would have already.

Best wishes.

Sometimes it will show positive at 10 DPO and sometimes it takes up to 14 DPO. I would take another test in a few days with first morning urine. Good luck!

I did, i only just got the faintest of faint lines on the day my period was due, so i wouldnt be discouraged just yet! Wait until the day your period is due, if it still shows negative, as you said go to the docor and get a blood test! Good luck to you, hope it all works out for you! :)

I had a bunch of negative hpt over 14 days after my period was due. I had to get a blood test. Wait a couple of days and retest.

That is a pretty short luteal phase. You may need progesterone and/or Clomid to help you get pregnant.

Also, don't test until 14DPO. I've seen very few BFP's prior to that.
