I was watching Anderson Cooper on CNN the other night. He was talking about terrorism. Mr. Cooper said that right now, today, less than half the 9/11 Commission's recommendations have been implemented.

This is the very first item Democrats promised to do during the first 100 hours: "Implementing the recommendations of the 9/11 commission." http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/11/11/AR2006111100934.html

When are they going to get around to implementing the other half?

This question has been asked time and time again but for the benefit of those that have trouble keeping up, I'll try again. The 100 hrs applied to issues raised in the House where Democrats have a small majority. The Senate is a virtual even split between Republicans and Democrats. The president is a Republican who has just discovered he has veto powers. So try real hard and you might come to an understanding of where the power still lies especially when it takes 60% of the vote to clear a bill in the Senate that Bush will veto antway. Does that clear it up for you?

The Democrats in the House passed all the legislation that they promised within the first 42 hours. Little has gotten through the Senate however since they need the cooperation of the Republicans because the Democratic majority in the Senate is so slim.

So I guess that you don't like Democrats sense you keep posting questions that attack our Congress. Your right... Congress has done nothing... However, our presidant should have implemented these recommendations. Shouldn't have been Congress to deal with. Your question is double sided. Our Government is not doing it's job.

With congress' limited work schedule I'm still trying to work out how many years they have before the first 100 hours are up. :)

They are not. The House does not run the country. Their job is one half of the legislative process.
