I would say either Led Zeppelin or The Rolling Stones. For a newer band I would say the Red Hot Chili Peppers

i know that the red hot chili peppers arent the really new but they are fairly new to be considered the best band ever.

The band that's had the biggest impact: The Beatles
The best (in my opinion): Pink Floyd
For a newer band (90s-now), I think it's the Black Crowes. Though, Radiohead and Wilco are great as well.
I agree that Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones are great...though, I'm not a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

ok it totally agree with you about led zep and the rolling stones but red hot chili peppers aren't that new they are from the 80s here are some other artists i like from different times
60s the doors, the who, the rolling stones, jimi hendrix and cream
70s led zeppelin, the deep purple, genesis, pink floyd, acdc, iggy pop, CCR and tom petty
80s GNR, U2, foreigner, bad company and styx
90s pearl jam, REM and lenny kravitz
00s coldplay (i am not a big fan of modern music)

Green Day and My Chemical Romance are tied for the best band ever......I like the Red Hot Chili Peppers also though. I also like older bands like AC/DC but i didn't mention that cause i hoped i wouldn't get a thumbs down.....ugh people these days, i was just being honest!

I'm a die hard Zeppelin fan so I think they are the greatest but I like all kinds of groups. Pink Floyd, Sabbath, Judas Priest, and the Beattles to name a few. I also like Zappa, the Eagles, AC/DC. As far as newer groups I like Nickleback and Hinder. There is also a guy by the name of Butch Walker that puts out some great stuff. Music is so subjective, you could get thousands of different answers to this question.

Well, my favorite is probably the Clash, followed closely by the Ramones followed closely by the Stooges.
But best.... it's hard to say, The Stooges were very very different at the time and made such great music, the Ramones were at least AS revolutionary, and the Sex Pistols were quite an event as well. Hmmmm....
I'm going to go with the Ramones. They did save rock 'n' roll, after all, from the prog rock yuppies.

What a broad question! My opinion. Best talent in a band goes to Queensryche, Rush, Velvet Revolver. Most depth as artists goes to Pink Floyd and any Beetles song written by John Lennon (post trip to India). Best party band was Van Halen, by far. Best band that flat out rocks goes to Led Zep, Aerosmith, Velvet Revolver.
