Yes...wow..I feel like that at the moment
I love them to death too but sometimes I feel so out of place & like the freak-odd-one-out...& it's not their fault...maybe I make myself feel like that..??
i can't even explain it but yeah I know that feeling pretty darn well...

Absolutely! I think everyone feels that way once in a while, and there's nothing wrong with that. There's only a problem if you constantly feel out of place, wondering where you can go to escape. The important thing to remember is that eventually that feeling will wear off - for whatever reason it first occurred. Maybe your family and friends are really loud, and sometimes you just need a moment; perhaps you'd prefer being alone for a moment instead of being surrounded by people...anyway, I wouldn't worry too much. Family and friends are always great to have, but there are always times that we all wish we could escape - even for just a moment.

It usually happens to me twice a year . . . Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's when my extended family gets together. These are people I barely know, and only see on these two holidays (if that).
I also feel that way from time to time when I'm around people I'm very comfortable with. It's just that for some reason, at that time I feel out of place. Could be things that were said, could be things on my mind, or it just could be that I don't feel like being around them . . .

I feel like that all the time. When having family get togethers I rather kick it with the kids than with the adults cuz I hate answering nosey questions and being intruded on with opinions on how I live my life. At least the kiddies keep it real & just keep to playing games and stuff, lol. =)

Happens to me every Christmas! As that is the ONLY time I see extended family. I feel really different from all of them, not so much in a bad way. Just different.

Only once in my life.
Family is very important to me and we're very close.
I had a personal situation once where my family was either trying a bit too hard to cheer me up or just being too sensitive to me...lol.
I can laugh about it now but at the time, I just needed some space to be alone and work it through.

Be happy you have family sweetie, mine are all gone and it hurts so bad every day. That's when I think why oh why, and what for? But I know God would be seriously pissed off and that is what stops me. Hang in there hun and e-mail me if you need a new bud to talk to.

my family are all, manual laborers and they love what they do. they don't appreciate art or music or share any of my interests. sometimes I feel like I was adopted and nobody ever told me. My dream is to be a performer, singing, acting, comedy. don't care as long as I'm on stage, but my family sees the world totally differently.

I've had those moments when I didn't feel like being around others, but guilt got the better of me. Then you tell yourself later you should have stayed home.

yeah, i know what you mean, i'm kind of the black sheep of my disfunctional family, and even tho i love them a lot, sometimes i feel like i just dont' belong with them. and there is always the moods that make you feel lonely even when you are completely surrounded by family and friends...it just happens sometimes.
