Plan A - small italian place with candle on the table, I would set fire to napkins, play footsy with you, try to speak italian to the waiter and of course pay the bill!
Plan B - if kicked out for mocking the waiter in his own language and nearly setting fire to a family run businezz (this is how italians say it) then I would get a big bag of fish & chips and go & sit by the sea, looking up at the moon, throwing stones in the see, sipping on a local brew until it was time to go home.

I would take you to the snow capped mountains of the french alps, where in a log cabin by ourselves we would eat dinner by candle light in front of a warm cosy fireplace, throwing shadows across the room, illuminating your beautiful features, and outside the window we would watch the snow fall elegantly outside forming perfect harmony with nature while we are inside warm and cosy.

If that was the only thing he had planned, then it sounds like a lame date. If it was on the way to a movie or something then I might let it slide.....depending on the fellows degree of hotness.
I probably wouldn't be taking you out. I'm not too fond of other women and I'm married:)

Well, he's an 'ex,' so I would think that it wouldn't bother you. He doesn't have to make the effort anymore, now does he? I'd be pretty content. Food is food.
