right, when i accelorate my car is making some kind of noise, mainly in 2nd gear, lik a phut phut phut?

this happens and sounds lik its the timing belt, but i am wandering if it could be the air filter? the noise is like air coming out, but that could just be me! cheers

well i notice it sounds lik it was coming from the belt, but it might just be me but it can sometime be sluggish at times! couls this be the rings?

could be replacing the rings be expensive to replace?

It could be a loose fan belt expanding as you accelerate and rubbing on something.
or look for a hole in the exhaust system.
I could also be a compression leak, rings, spark plug, etc.
