Extremely unlikely. In order to make a horcrux, you have to commit willful murder - the act of killing has to be so base that it splits your soul. Therefore, killing an enemy in combat or in an execution doesn't count. And I don't see Dumbledore as having that kind of violence in him.

Besides, JKR said that he's dead and he won't be "pulling a Gandalf." Even aside from the question of whether you believe Dumbledore could commit a soul-splitting murder, that pretty much rules out the possibility of his having a horcrux.

Dumbledore eludes to the fact that he new there was more than one way to make a horcrux (without murder possibly?).

Also, if it is murder you want to use, it all depends on who and what you kill. I believe Dumbledore's horcrux will be an animal.

You have to commit a murder to make a horcrux, so I highly doubt it, although Dumbledore could have lived a secret life as a serial killer, I suppose.

i have thought that myself, but i also agree with the other answers...a horcrux requires dark magic. i could see dumbledore killing a bad person in a justified situation, but i do not see him premeditating a murder to set up whatever was necessary for a horcrux. that thought has kept me wishing for the last year...so we'll see!

I don't think Dumbledore has it in him to murder someone. In Philosopher's Stone, Professor Mc Gonnagal claims that Dumbledore had the same powers as Voldemort but was "too noble to use them".

although that does spark some interesting concepts for there to be someway to make dumbledore come back, it also means he would have to have murdered someone in the past, and that is definately not how dumbledore rolls. otherwise voldemort would be DEAD ^_^

For that to happen Dumbledore would have had to murder someone.
