Actually, the proper way is to take three coins, each representing the lines of the IChing.
IChing coin readin gis done by 2 separate readins, first for the upper section and the second for the lower three
Normally, heads would indicate a yang reading (solid line) and the tails would indicate the yin reading (broken line)
One covers and shakes the coins first, and releasing the coins, letting them fall onto the table
By reading from top to bottom, u would be able to get one of the possible 8 readings (e.g. 3 solid/3 broken/first broken rest solid/ etc)
Take back the same coins and repeat the procedure for the lower half.
Hence, by combining both parts, one would get one of the possible 64 sequences.
To translate, just refer according to the pattern indicated in the book

1. Thou shalt obtain 6 Chinese coins. Five shall be of one metal and the sixth of another. One side ye shall call Yang, and the other Yin (Heads and Tails).
2. These coins should be kept in a wrapped black cloth, and no other should lay his hand upon them. For they swell with thine aura when used with sincerity and repetition.
3. One side is solid and the other broken. One of the six is
especial.
