I think you've perfectly described a light reflection. Without any further information, I really can't tell you much more than that.
How come you haven't gotten up and walked over to it and investigated it a bit?

Yer room layout is a bit seedy - it could be reflection of the tv on yer pc screen. If there is a light check out its reflection and its directions. Ghosts are not particularly white nor blobby. More ghastly and ghouly and make you runny.

Ruling out any sort of reflection based upon your description of the layout; it sounds just like a normal spirit which they are usally seen as "orbs" -- cloud like (as in the color) balls that float around.
Not all spirits are orbs; they can come in different shapes/colors/sizes. My friend James comes in a green mist type form -- see my 360 pics.
