Over in Sweden they changed inheritance years ago so that the firstborn child of the monarch would inherit the throne instead of the firstborn male child as it had previously been. The current King's oldest daughter is female and second child is male. Now instead of him inheriting the throne was he was supposed to, it is now his sister who is next in line. In Britain, Luxembourg, Liecthenstein, and other countries it always is the firsborn male who has the next right to the throne. I personally believe that it is the firstborn male that should inherit the throne because its the men that are supposed to be in charge and plus if it is a woman inheriting, some other king from another country could marry her, and then as his wife, she would be obligated to obey him. Let the men inherit the estates and when the women marry the men they will get to live in them too. That is the way it should be.

Well, it was good of you to share.
Apparently the folks in Sweden don't really care what you think, though.
Currently 46 nations in the world have monarchs as heads of state, 16 of which are Commonwealth Realms that formally recognize
Queen Elizabeth II
as their head of state and Prince Charles as heir.
46 different countries who all do it whatever way it works for them. As long as they like it, I like it.
You should chill.
PS. Currently Britian has a Queen.

I feel that the firstborn child should be the one to inherit the throne. If it happens to be a daughter and she marries, she retains the throne. Her husband should not automatically rule as he is not of the royal blood line. The only person who should get the throne from her is her firstborn child, or the closest relative of her bloodline who she deems worthy.

Well not always is the the firstborn
In Inca empire, the most able and more capable male are the emperor, not the firstborn, as long is born in one of the panacas or royal families, say the ones who founded the empire and with each new emperor a new panaca is made.
If there are a lot of possible incas a ritual competence takes place between the auquis or princes.

Neither; upon the monarch's death (or before) the institution should be done away with and a republic put in its place.
Even if you want to stick with a monarchy, primogeniture is a lousy way to determine succession, not taking into account whether or not an heir is fit to rule. If anything, a monarch should designate their own heir, whether the heir be a child of the monarch's or not.

Perhaps it should be better to let the firstborn and so to avoid dynastic troubles like those in France at the end of the "direct" Capetians (1335) which in turn provoked the Hundrend Years' War.And with due respct, incase that don't notice it we live in a society which grants equal rights both to men and women (for there there is no evidence that men are better qualified to be in charge than women), so why not equality in the throne? We are not living in Iran after all, thanks God!

First born child. Why? Because women are just as equal as men and i don't see why a male should rule a country if he has an older sister and he is younger. Doesn't matter. Who ever is oldest, has to rule the country.

Umm....misogynist much?
A woman is just as capable of ruling as a man is. For an example, you need look no further than Queen Elizabeth I, who ruled for a very long time, and ruled better than her father did, in my opinion.
I think the days of men being solely in charge are over. Who is to say that a man won't obey his wife? I thought the marriage vows had each partner honoring and obeying the other. One way to keep the man's ego in check is to make sure that he is named consort.
