When i bought the Lincoln Continental they didn't work. I find it unlikely that someone would take them off, so they must still be there. And even more unlikely is that both are completely dead. So is there something i´m missing... a switch or a child lock or something? How can i fix this?

its probably an electrical short... but both rear window drives could be stripped out. there arent any switches or anything that just control the 2 rear windows. id start by pulling a rear door panel off and unplugging the window drive, then run direct power to the drive itself... if the window moves then the drive is fine and its an electrical problem, if it still doesnt move then the drive is bad.
if its an ex cop car then the drives are usually unplugged, so plug them back in.

Does the passenger window work?
if no, it is the safety switch somewhere on the driver side. It shuts off all windows except the driver's.
If yes, then look into the fuse panel. There may be more than one. All power windows can't be on one fuse so there should be at least 2, maybe for front and rear.
small chance both are bad at the same time.

Fuse, wiring, switches, relays, any of the above. You're correct, it's unlikely that both motors are dead. You need to look at what they have in common.

If you can't operate them from the driver's door, have you tried the switch on each of the rear doors? There is a safety lockout switch on the driver's door that would prevent any of the switches from operating them.

First thing you need to do is check the fuses. Then go ahead and check the doors. To do this check the inside panel where the door latches when closed. If you can't find out what is causing the problem by that then it is possible that both motors are out. Hope this helps.

if they don't work from drivers control, and each rear door control then it sounds like you need to get a window motor one on each side or they may be disconectd but i doubt that/ both sides but could have been done for some purpose. thnx
