ok, i hope that got ur attention, because everytime i ask a question i get like 3 answers. ok here goes. i wanna get a myspace but my dad wont let me. what are some good convincing ideas??? and also. if anyone here has a shoutlife, please add me. my lil thing is shoutlife.com/fishyface56

and also, i get good grades, and i no there are a lot of bad people on this site but face it, there are a lot of bad people walking around you when u go downtown, so if my dad trusts me to go downtown to claires all by myself with a friend, then why cant he trust me to get a myspace and not talk to bad people. we have this program on our computers so he can see what i am doing at all times on my computer so its not like im going to do anything bad. and i am even going to tell him that he can have my password so that he can log on at anytime he wants to see what i have done, look at my friends etc. its just like when i got my email addresses. i have to give him the password to all of them [i have 3] so he can see what i am doing and look at all my emails. so what do you guys think. and BTW the reason i even want one in the first place is that it is fun. i have a lot of friends on that site that i really wanna talk to because they dont check their email, only their myspace. so yeah....

nevermind guys. im getting a myspace in 3 weeks if i can do my chores!!!

Dont get a myspace! I had one, and then my computer got swamped with viruses. (I got a better antivirus program and kept going on there) Then all of a sudden this guy kept messaging me saying he knows where I live and I ignored him and he kept messaging more telling me he knows my name (and he was right) knew where I lived (he got the state and city right) and all of this other crap and it was scarey as he11 so I went to the police and they found him. He didn't get charged though because technically he didn't do anything wrong. But there are people that are messed up out there and want to hurt you. Stick with the safer sites and Im not trying to scare you just be safe and find a different site that is similiar. The only reason you would get a myspace is to meat new people. And that is scarey if you dont know who you are meeting. It could be anybody on the other side of the internet. Be safe.

Ok I had the same problem my dad told me no and got into fights. Just don't get a myspace I mean don't you hear how people are getting raped, killed, and found in bushing in garbage bags? Maybe you should have Yahoo! Messenger or AIM that is safer and better. Your dad just loves you and doesn't want you to get hurt. So take his advice.

Maybe if you offer to let your Dad have monitoring "rights" to the site he would be more comfortable? If you aren't going to be doing anything wrong then there will be nothing to hide from dear old Dad will there? If there is something to hide from Dad ... well then I agree with him ... you don't need the myspace in the first place.

i would take advice from ya dad sorry but us parents only have ya best intreast @ heart all kinds of people can get ya info or talk ya into meeting them e.t.c it might seem hard and unfair on you ya dad might seem over protective but wait and see what its like when ya about 30 odd and r old enough to have kids u will understand them dont take advice from those telling u to lie 2 ya dad this will just cause probs coz WHEN ya caught ya dad wont trust u ask if ya can have pc in family room and tell ya dad he can monitor every thing give him ya password e.t.c

It's overrated. I barely log in anymore. It's mostly crazies, egomaniacs & spammers. You know it's uncool when politicians (almost the same thing as spammers) are using it.

don't tell your dad. Myspace is totally safe, now it automatically makes your page 'private', which means only people you choose can view it.

Everyone has a Myspace. Your dad doesn't have to know about it ;)
