I sell bird houses. I got a letter with 4 walmart money orders for $850.00 each. I told them I don't have that many items. They said send what items I have then give the extra cash to the shipper when he picks up the items. The money orders looks legal. The man to contact is in Nigeria. Is this a scam!

YES they are bad checks! Don't do anything except call the FBI or go to the police & report them. I got some of those checks once & they are BAD, BAD, BAD! I am ALWAYS leary about checks coming from Nigeria.

I know its a dangerous line to cross, but im gona, dont sell to anyone in "nigeria"!!!

Havnt used yahoo to sell but on ebay i have had numerous attempts at similar schams made on me, usually with western union as the payment method, but 9 times out of 10 it is someone from nigeria, and they are always making the purchase for a gift.

I would be highly suspicious of it. Take the money orders to your bank and ask how they could be cashed/deposited without giving out your checking account number. Then explain to them about the extra money and see what they advise.
Be highly suspicious of anything from Nigeria.

I would think so. Go to the local authorities if you think it's a scam and find out for sure. I heard of a lot of scams that are coming out of Nigeria.
