I am writing a 20 pg story for lit. class and i cant think of a name for a magical school. i want it to be good becuz if its a good story it will be put in the newspaper! plz help me out! and dont say hogwarts cuz that would be copying JKRs work

I've always been a fan of the simple names, like The School.
"Where are we going?"
"We're going to The School."
"What school?"
"Are ye daft boy? THE School, the only one that matters anyways. The School'll learn ye some magic it will."
Edit: And since other people don't seem to realize this, we've had "Magic Schools" before. The Rift War Saga comes to mind, for example. And what of the friggen Jedi Academy? If that isn't a "magic school," then what is?

How about "The Merlin School of Magic." There's no rule that says wizards can't name their schools after important dead people the way Muggles do.

Hogworth's is named after a real castle, why don't you try looking for major castles in the orld and find their names, there's some pretty interesting ones out there

How about Warthogs? Sounds like you are copying Harry Potter anyway - I find it hard to believe a college would post a story about a magical school in it. It sounds a little juvenile for most college newspapers. Personally, I would not accept a paper that was based on another author's work - even if they did change the name of the school. Pax - C

It be best if you come up with something yourself, I'm not trying to be rude, but if your in college (classes that you are paying) you should know it would be like your not writing it youself, even if its just a name someone gave to you
