I honestly think the Raiders have made some strides from last year, but I don't see them climbing out of the AFC West basement this year. Lane Kiffin seems like a smart guy, and I like the way he handled the team this offseason. The Raiders defense is pretty solid, but I feel there is just not enough talent on the offensive side of the football to make this team a contender. I think that if everything goes right, the Raiders have a shot at going 6-10. Anything better would really blow my mind, and also start to make me nervous. It's really too bad, as a Broncos fan, I like to see the Raiders be a lot more competitive than they have been lately. It makes the rivalry a lot more fun to watch!

4 and 12 (improved)
Look, they are a mess still. The O-line is not going to be appreciably better despite the tinkering. Dominc Rhodes is out for 4 games. Porter is their best receiver. Mike Williams is fat.
The defense will keep them in games, and maybe win a couple, but their offense is going no where soon.
Look at their schedule! After Denver and San Diego dish out two losses each, they have Chicago and Indy. That's 6 losses right there. They'll split with KC if they are lucky, and maybe beat the likes of Cleveland.
They'll be better, but they are a long way from being decent. JaMarcus is going to have to be Vince Young for anything good to happen.

i think they'll do better 4 sure. although I'm a raiders fan i truly think in a few yrs they'll be playoff contenders. they have the #1 pass defense and an added Donovan Darius of the jags and the #3 overall defense. also they drafted Jamarcus Russell 2 help at QB got rid of the complaining randy moss and Jerry Porter is returning and he wants a fresh start, but because of the toughness of their schedule and the division they play in, expect almost 5 wins but in about 2-3 yrs they'll be playoff contenders in the wild card

They will be 1 or 2 games better or worse....They gave away Moss the only thing they had on offense and he wasn't that good there....Russell will help but not much....Plus imma Cowboys fan so I don't care bout the Raiders unless they woop the Broncos cause I live in CO and hate the Donkeys

They will improve significantly. As a Broncos fan myself, I can easily tell you that they won't improve enough to be major competition in the AFC West, but my guess is that they will win 6 or 7 games.

They will be a little better, but I can't help but figure JaMarcus Russell will be doing his 2007 version of a 2005-2006 David Carr impression.

Most likely 1-2 games in the win column because of the status of who will be the starting quarterback and the offensive line.

I wouldn't say majorly but they will improve no doubt. Some people say they won't use JaMarcus Russell until like the 7th game or so.

They sound like they've improved. Their defense should be good again, but I think their rookie QB will take a while to get used to NFL.
Pretty young coach - asking alot of him.
