Well, I noticed that everyone was asking this question in dave s' earlier post, and took it upon myself to ask it, myself!
So please, justify why exactly Team McCann needs a million pounds when seemingly none of it is actually spent finding Madeleine?

Sparticus - Of course I care about little Madeleine, and before I saw Team McCann for what it was, I even bought a little ribbon...
But what I'm saying is, this money isn't helping Maddy, so why do her greedy family need it?

Anyone who donated money to the "Find Maddy Campaign" had a reasonable expectation that the money would be used for that cause.
Since the "Bring Madeleine Home" website has turned into a pool side vacation diary for Gerry McCann, the question remains:
What (besides lawyers and promotion for profit) is the money being spent on?
Team McCann has exhibited a penchant for passivity during this campaign, with the noted exception of collecting money.
This is what is driving me and others, who are following this case, crazy.
Do Something! Anything, besides spending the donation money entertaining quests at your resort.
Remember, every pound spent on room service is one less pound spent finding Maddy.

How can anyone still believe the Mccann's are only doing what their doing for Madelene????
Its truly beyond me....they told lie's to everyone from the Police to the Public from the very start......why for Gods sake isn't everyone looking for that little girl?
Its ok keeping her name and face everywhere.....but in 2 months thats not worked so move onto something else....ok her face is everywhere does anyone else worry it makes it near on impossible now for anyone who may have her to EVER let her out of whereever they could be keeping her?
Still we could all pray they leave her alone then the poor child could just wander out the front door......

Why would 'pro' McCanns have to JUSTIFY what the fund money was being spend on!!!
Why would you think people on these board would know what the money was being spend on.
Your quote "when seemingly none of it is actually spent finding Madeleine?
Please enlightened us as to how you have this inside information.........
When people donated money to this fund, of their own free will, I don't think they expected a full break down and inside information of how money was being spent.
I would bet a huge sum of money that any money in the fund will be used to set up a charity in the future.......but I certainly don't know that for sure!

All this seems to be like a snowball rolling downhill, out of control, it looks like the original intention of using the money to find Madeleine has got lost in translation. There is so much hype and events there seems to me to be a party atmosphere forming. I do not say this with any disrespect to the kind hearted people who have donated or worked so hard organising events I just find this all so sad. I too would like to know why it seems that everyone is holding their breath waiting for the million pound mark to be reached.

How do you know they haven't got private investigators in? The film adverts, which were pulled, must have cost a fortune, too.
As I am not a McCann, I can't answer you, but I can see those expenses, for a start. I haven't donated any money because I don't see the need. But the fact that other people have, doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Naturally, I think everyone cares about Maddy's welfare and would happily donate if they thought it would bring her home.
But the McCann family seem hell bent on making a name for themselves, travelling from country to country and being in the public eye non-stop.
This is just the image being portrayed to the media, but in my opinion something isn't quite right.
Call me sick, but I don't think Maddy is all the McCann's are thinking about just now.
And if it is, maybe they should get that message across a bit better.

Just read Dave's post too. I think the question IS legitimate. When wee Maddy was first abducted, everybody wanted to help. Many people put their hands in their pockets, purses, etc hoping their couple of pounds would help. Don't you people who are continually putting the questioners down (without stating a reason) not think that these folk DESERVE to know where their money has/is going? I think that it is only common courtesy. One MILLION pounds is a helluva lot of money by any standards. People can't be blamed for asking pertinent questions - it's human nature.
Kate & Gerry McCann managed, by their OWN actions, to turn people against them.

I have no idea what it is being spent on. We only know how much has been donated, not how much has been spent or on what.
The difference is that I don't assume that the McCanns have set out to enrich themselves. There are rules governing financial disclosure by limited companies. This means that, in due course and in line with the law, at least some details will be reported. It also means that there will be accountability over the extent to which the company is fulfilling its stated objectives. There is no real justification for the smears and innuendo about this.
