if it doesn't just pull out from the front it will have a nut on it and it will have to come out from behind the kick panel.

Does the decrease air volume happen when you accelerate and increase when you back off the gas ??, if this is the case start looking for a vacuum leak, it sounds like one of the vent doors are not staying closed.

door jam switches usually pop out from the front.
pull it out, disconnect the terminals, reconnect to new switch, test, pop new switch back in.
