I suggest you make your own because the mark-up is high and most companies suck at giving you good enough stuff. Once you buy a computer you will notice that you will have to upgrade too many things to make it do things that you want or need to do.

Well, as previously mentioned, if at all possible build it yourself, it will probably last longer, be more want you want, and you won't have the incredible amount of extras that slow your computer down.

"Best" is a difficult word. If by the "best" you mean spending the least and still getting a suitable PC, then I think the best would be eMachines (bought out by gateway). However, if by best you mean the fastest, perhaps you might like Alienware (bought out by Dell, but still operates independently from dell's hrrible services)

Without doubt that would be Alienware, or go into a computer store and order a custom made system. Your Dells ,HP`s IBM`s etc are basic, cheap components yet you still pay more than you would for a similar custom system.

Dell. Hands down. They have great customer service and quality equipment. While you can build your own, you are also on your own for all support. If you are a knowledgeable computer person, this is not an issue. However if you are not, buy a Dell.
