Yes you capitalize it because the word hurricane is part of the proper name of the hurricane, and it is proper to capitalize proper names.

i have no back up site, i merely live in florida, and have for 28 years.. (and have therefore watched a procession of hurricanes on the news every year)they are both capitalized, because they are both part of a proper name.
