How about taking a small backpack or purse (that you can wear over your shoulder) so that you have all your stuff with you but without it impeding on your fun? Take tampons, Kleenex (in case the bathroom stall is out of toilet paper), a travel size packet of wet wipes to keep you extra clean and some pantiliners in case the tampon leaks a little. You can get a pack of small, thin, wrapped pantiliners for about a dollar at any drugstore, or you can put some regular ones in a regular or snack-size sandwich bag.
In case you're worried about someone opening your bag and you think that might embarrass you, put the tampons and pantiliners in the pocket inside the bag. Also, you might want to take an ibuprofen or some other kind of over-the-counter pain medication in the morning so that you can avoid cramps, and put a couple of pills in a Kleenex or sandwich bag just in case. You'll find lots of bathrooms there, just remember to always wash your hands well first before going into a bathroom stall to change a tampon.
Don't worry too much about it. Seeing that you're asking about it now, you'll definitely be prepared. So have lots of fun. These outings are going to be some of your favorite memories when you get older, so enjoy yourself. :)

What you'll need is a box of tampons. Get the kind with a plastic applicator (brand doesn't matter much, but I prefer Pearl), and get the box that has different absorbencies in it. Also get a package of pantyliners. If you don't carry a purse, either buy a purse and carry it for your vacation, or buy the kind of tampons that are "compact" so you can keep a few in your pocket. If you're worried about people seeing tampons in your purse, you can buy a small make-up bag to put things like tampons in, to keep inside your purse. Then all you need to do is just use the correct absorbency for your flow, and keep a new pantyliner on at all times.
For cramps and PMS or other symptoms, Midol is probably best, as it does more than just alleviate cramping, it helps with gas and other discomforts as well. If you can't get Midol, you want to get something with Ibuprofen in it, as Ibuprofen is a mild muscle relaxant as well as being a pain reliever, so it's best suited for menstrual cramps. Again, if you're worried about someone seeing your bottle of Midol, either keep the whole bottle in the make-up bag you got for the tampons or get a small pill box to keep in the make-up bag.
Have fun!
Edit: As another poster said, bringing a few extra pairs of underwear is a very good idea! Put a pair in a plastic bag, and keep it in your purse/make-up bag, so that you have the bag to keep a pair that has been leaked on in.

Midol is always a good bet because it knocks out all the symptoms, ie..cramps, blotting, headaches etc.
As far as tampons go, they sell ones that are pretty compact so you can keep it in your back pack, or carry a small backpack with some essentials. Talk to your mom or another women you trust that is going on the trip, they may be able to help with stashing some items. Good luck and have fun!

Hi
You can put your tampons in a small back pack with a bottle of water and some snacks that way that no one will know that you are on your period. For cramps take a bottle of Midol or Pamprin with you. Midol and Pamprin treat the bloating, cramps, and anything else that you might experience while you are on your period.
** Take Extra Tampons to avoid leaks**
You might want to also wear a pad on your heavier days to avoid embarrassing leaks!

The best thing to help prevent cramps is, seriously, apples and raw cabbage. Eat plenty of healthy things to avoid cramps.
As for tampons/pads, just take them in your purse and change when you need to. Don't worry you will be having so much fun you will forget about your period

Good medications for cramps are Midol and Pamparin, both available at the pharmacy. Don't keep your tampons in your sock, I lost some money that way at six flags. A couple in the sides of your bra should keep them safe until you need them...

ask your mom (don't be embarrassed) to take you to the doctor like 1 week before you go on holiday, because they will give you some medication which will prelong your period for a week or so.(yeah there is such a thing)! But you have to do as the doctor says and take how many he says a day cause if you forget then your gonna be in in a mess - you period will start! They don't have side affects etc it's as risky as taking head ache pills. You'll be able to have fun, not have to worry etc about messes or cramp but when you holiday is over and you stop taking the pills your period might be heaver than usual for one time. But hay least you 'll have had a pain free holiday!

If you're going to use tampons, make sure you wea a panty liner as well just in case you have leakage, so it won't go through your clothing. Drink plenty of water and keep hydrated as well. You also may consider wipes of some sort to "freshen" up if you are nervous about odor.
Have a great vacation.

tampons will pretty much "hide" in the pocket of a pair of baggy jeans or cargo shorts, otherwise you're stuck carrying a bag/purse. midol or advil for cramps.
