I think you know better that conservatives don't hate our troops and I'm a liberal. Have they made really horrible and dumb decisions, YES! and I think the absolute majority of the American people support me in that statement because they have common sense and reason to oppose the war.

the genuine people who hate our troops are the liberals like those at Human Rights Watch, the ACLU, manhattan situations, and so on. who launch unfavourable comments and concepts undermining the conflict attempt merely because of the fact they hate President Bush. Conservatives hating troops? no longer even close. in actuality, i became at Sean Hannity's annual "Freedom stay overall performance" and it became a very great rally of conservatives in help for our troops (some 13,000 human beings) with patriotism abound. Lt. Col Oliver North became there besides. A conservative, he based Freedom Alliance, a company which awards scholarships to the little little ones of fallen u . s . a . soliders. that's a terrific occasion of ways conservatives are those looking after our troops and their households, even whilst the government and the individuals as an entire have long forgotten them and their valiant sacrifices.

Really it was the foolish draw down and fit of base closings by politicians in general (after the USSR lost super power status) that gave us the rapid rate of re-deployment now. Kicked off by Bush Sr. and encouraged by Congress. Bill C. aggravated that by letting the military budgets of the armed services be diverted into Eco wacko programs and such other goofy stuff that didn't relate to military readiness.
Your logic is severely twisted

Most of the real Conservatives are in the Military. There are very few Conservatives in the Government. And only one running for President.

Wow, and here I thought I supported them. I supported their efforts to fight "the fight" over "there" vice here, I supported the efforts to give them reinforcements when they needed them instead of Pelosi's effort to keep the reinforcements "resting" and I supported their efforts to get improved weapons, and gear instead of spending it on Mr. Kennedy's Big Dig.
But if the democrat liberals want to claim differently, why, don't THEY have the Majority in the House and Senate?
Ah wait, they are too busy lining their own pockets.

Budget cuts from teh Clinton era are why the troops didnt have proper equipment in the first place.
And every soldier I have talked to believes in what they are doing there. Why dont you ask one of them sometime.
I dont like how it has dragged and become stagnant either.
But your just looking for something to blame on conservatives.

Clearly "support our troops" is just the usual empty rhetoric from conservatives.

has it not been Bush's mantra that" the troops have to stay and continue fighting and dying because coming home would disrespect the sacrifice the soldiers that have died have already made"?
