The largest car-based MPV in the UK is the (extremely ugly) Ssangyong Rodius. The Chrysler Grand Voyager, Renault Grand Espace and Kia Carnival may also be worth a look.

However, there are also van-based MPVs such as the VW Multivan or Transporter Shuttle, Mercedes-Benz Vito and Viano, Renault Trafic combi, Vauxhall Vivaro combi, Fiat Scudo Panorama, Peugeot Expert Combi and Citroën Dispatch Combi, which may suit you better (and may be easier to claim as a commercial vehicle for tax purposes).

There are also combi versions of larger vans such as the Ford Transit, LDV Maxus and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, but these may be too large to be practical family vehicles.

The Renault Grand Espace is the godfather of all people carriers! 7 seats that can be put in every position imaginable and removed plus an adequate boot with all 7 seats in place. Oh, and a 5 star safety rating as opposed to the Chrysler Voyagers score of....well.....2!
Hope this helps!

Available in Britain? The SsangYong Rodius has to be a contender. or maybe the Chrysler Grand Voyager. Van conversions like the Mercedes Vito are pretty big too.

The current C-Max is only available in one size. The next generation, being unveiled at the Geneva Salon this week will be available in two sizes - the C-Max with 5 seats and conventional hinged rear doors and the Grand C-Max with a longer body, 7 seats and sliding rear doors.
