I had larposcopy (or however you spell it) sugery done in Sept this year. I have been put on birthcontrol pills to keep my bleeding to a minimum and to keep from having painful cramps, and to keep my cysts from coming back. In the last few weeks I have been experienceing horrible pain on my lower right side, painful cramps, strong mood swings, alot of lower back pain, and fairly heavy bleeding. And this is happening in the middle of my b/c pill pack. I haven't missed a day of taking them. Is it possible that the cysts have grown back? What are other surgery options that I should discuss with my doctor other than just removing the cysts?

Yes, it is possible to have ovarian cyst even on the OC pills. It is first line of therapy but not always curative.
Syptoms you described are suggestive of cyst. You should see physician and get sonogram done.
If pain increases, you experience nausea, vomiting or fever visit ER. You want to avoid having torsion of ovary.

Other medications are available if OC pills consistantly fail to help you.

cyst formation is a natural by product of ovulation, in fact the ovaries produce a cyst for each egg, and at the right time the cyst ruptures propelling the egg toward the fallopian tube where it will be fertilized and then transported to the uterus for implantation. The problem arrises when for some reason the cyst doesn't rupture and just continues to grow in size.. or multiple cysts are formed at once instead of just one. I am surprised the doctor put you on a hormonal based product to deal with this because it rarely works. Essentially the ovary is malfunctioning, and usually the only thing that really works is removing the ovary that has the problem. I went thru this nonsense myself for many years before I finally had an oopherectomy, or removal of the ovary that was causing the problem. I still was able to have both my beautiful sons with just one ovary.

Hey sweetie, I simply had a ectopic ovarian being pregnant and I needed to have surgical procedure tohave it eliminated 2 weeks in the past. It wasnt that unhealthy, you are going to be sore for a couple of weeks, however up and relocating in an afternoon or so. I had the laproscopy, motive mine was once smaller, so I had 2 incisions one formed like a semi circle below my stomach button after which a one inch via one inch H watching factor down on my bikini discipline. My interval began forty eight hours after surgical procedure and my general practitioner stated that its more likely to occur motive they must "hassle" your ovary to take away the cyst (mine was once a being pregnant specific sac setting up on my ovary) it handiest lasted for a couple of days then recognizing for few extra. I was once informed no intercourse for three weeks after which to attend until I felt equipped and its been two wks at present and the suggestion repulses me (bizarre motive I LOVE intercourse with my hubby) so its kinda unusual, however I do have residual hormones floating round! So loosen up and dont fear its now not that unhealthy, something I did that helped was once maintain a pillow to my tummy everytime I received up and it kinda supposted it? Also you are going to pass house equal day except ur stats arent well or your dr is overly wary..well good fortune! prayers to you!
