Granted yes, he had an ok game as a starter against the Giants yesterday, but honestly he is a terrible pitcher. The week before the All-Star game, he blew two games that had gone into extra innings (Padres in the 12th, Marlins in the 10th) and when he faced the Braves on the 4th of July, with the Dodgers only down 2-1 in the sixth inning I believe, he gave up 2 runs to make the Braves lead 4-1 and put the game out of reach. I think he deserves to board the next plane to Las Vegas and play in the minors till he gets his stuff together. What do you all think?

Never liked him when he was on other teams and I don't like him on the Dodgers as a starter. I would bet that Dodgers management sees that as a hole in their starting rotation and plan to do something about it. It became a real problem when Schmidt went down.

Well Brett Tomko was always a SP but bein moved to the bullpen is always a tough for a pitcher. It messes with his head badly, making him think hes not good enough and other such things. When something is wrong with your head the mechanics fall apart. When your moved around bullpen to starter back to b ullpen its a tough thing because rleievers and starters have sompletely different mentality. Tomko will be a decent 4-5 starter once he gets some help with his mechanics and his head back into the game I think he would be able to hold down the bottom of the rotation for the dodgers.

He's only in as an emergency starter because Schmidt and Wolf and Kuo are all on the DL....

He didnt look that hot even in his win against the Giants. They're the Giants, first of all, and after Bonds none of them can hit at the best of times, and they're slumping right now on top of that. Secondly, his control was way off. Aside from one inning, he was very inefficient, and his pitch count ran up way too fast. A lot of his pitches were way too low or outside.

I think he does need a little time and a little more coaching, figure out what in his mechanics he can change to help him locate better.

tomko worked really hard in spring training. in his 1st start of the season he had that 11k shutout that showed management and the rest of the league what he was made of. but since then he's been on the decline and thats too bad. with the injuries he has to step up now. GO DODGERS!

Being that I am Giants fan; thanks for taking on Tomko and Schmidt.

We have plenty more where that came from; just let us know if you want Barry Zito, Dave Roberts, Randy Winn, Ryan Klesko, etc.

You can have anyone except for our young pitchers.
