Yes.
There are other empaths,and
there are various groups on-line,
including the empath groups at yahoo.(there are quite
a few).
Don't let others' dissuade you that this is not possible.
I am one,and its taken a while to understand the process.
You can make it work for you, just don't speak of it to people who don't know, cause they will try to turn you into
someone that you aren't.

Very important: Know your boundaries(know yourself) ,establish them of what is acceptable, and not acceptable to you.
1.make a list of what u like and don't like. (for starters)
Because you're an empath, you cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought/feeling. Pain is not good, and headaches are a pain.
Detox with a bath of salt water (epson salts).

First, get the psychological training. As you practice listening to people, you will find that the "ability" is in letting go of your own preconceptions, and move in to really LISTEN to what the other person is saying!!! Don't try to formulate a hypothesis re the person--but simply LISTEN! THEY will tell you what the problem is!! MIrror back to them what you hear and very often, they are surprised that you ar ring the issue that they have been trying to hide from themselves!! Your "empathy" will help them bridge over into seeing their situation as it is--AND to then remediate it. Empathy is only a part of it. STUDY; PRACTICE with other students; and learn to totally set aside your own thoughts/ideas and HEAR ACCURATELY what the other person says!

Yep, starr is right. People fear what they don't understand.

I'm very empathic. Quite useful in the realm of business.

I've gotten better over the years, but not sure exactly how I did it. Maybe it was just practice, seems to come naturally to me.

Most definitely, in fact that is one of my own abilities. I'm including a link that might be a beneficial read.
