Does anyone have any info on letters being found from the sea. Always see it in movies, but never heard of it really happening. Seeking serious answers.

The first recorded messages in bottles were released around 310 BC by the Ancient Greek philosopher Theophrastus, as part of an experiment to show that the Mediterranean Sea was formed by the inflowing Atlantic Ocean.

There is no way to know what the first letter in a bottle was... SERIOUSLY. It actually happens all the time, even to this day. But it has never been a serious mode of communication, and has no significant historical impact.
