Use an oil-based eye makeup remover. Soap and water will N O T get all of the mascara off (I doubt even 1/2 of it) and you will be left with "raccoon eyes" and sore eyelids from rubbing so much.

Get the oil-based remover, shake it well, squirt it on cotton balls and hold on your eyelid for a few seconds. Then, gently rub until the mascara is removed.

I have tried MANY products and have found (believe it or not) Mary Kay eye makeup remover to work the best. It is VERY gentle and you hardly have to make an effort to get the mascara off.

Good luck!

I use Clinique liquid eye makeup remover in the blue bottle. It’s really gentle. They recommend to saturate a cotton ball and then gently rub on eyelashes until the mascara is gone. Then rinse with water. I’d usually have a cotton strand in my eyelashes/ in my eye and that would drive me nuts. Now, I use a cotton pad and they work perfect. I use one for each eye and I’m done real fast. I saturate, fold in half, hold under my eye, close my eye almost all the way and rub up. Then, saturate some more, and start on the top eyelid and rub down. Some water resistants come off with soap and water, so you might try that too.

The very best I have found is Lancome eye make up remover but this is pricey. Much cheaper and just as effective is one of their cleansers - Lancome Galateis not Galatea (different things). Works a treat and lasts much longer than the eye make up remover.

I use baby shampoo, it removes the make-up & doesn't burn the eyes. I got the idea from my doctor when I had an eye infection. He told me to cleanse my eyes with baby shampoo several times a day. Besides, nothing will work better or is cheaper. Baby oil will stay on your lashes and make your vision blurry. Good luck. 2D

Take your make up remover and apply it to a cotton ball....When you put the cotton ball on your lashes, let it sit for a few seconds and then rub away...It's like it has to soak in for awhile.

They make eye make up remover which should work or cold creme.

This is my personal favorite: maybelline expert eyes make up remover. The oil free version I think is better.
