That often I could have spared myself a lot of grief, if I would have just kept my mouth shut sometimes. Does that hold truth for you also.?

Yeah, but my mom taught me to speak my mind so I still do and I still get into trouble.

That is just one of the many life lessons we learn. I find it really sad that human beings are so scared of each other that we learn not to say anything rather than what we feel might help or whatever. I think it is not fair and now I am just learning this life lesson myself at 27 so maybe by the time I am 47 I will understand it better. I have noticed that I complain a lot and that is another thing humans just hate to hear muttering from anyone. Well, I think that is nfair too but I understand that one better and I have kept my whinning to a minimum over the past few years, but being disabled it is very hard to do so when you hurt everyday....anyway enough of my tangent....the answer overall is yes it is just one of those life lessons.

Actually, I think I could've spared myself a lot of grief over the years by speaking up and not remaining so timid and fearful of defending myself, especially from my father.

Yes, that and if I just did what I was told.

Never piss off a drunk cop who is also in the reserves. Army guys who are cops in the real world are so over powered, they think they're gods. Just let them think it and do what they say. That's my lesson of the day.

Oh yes...I often stick my foot in my mouth...I try to remember to think a little more before saying certain things.

I try to explain that theory to my 14 year old son but he continues to talk back and I continue to ground him from the computer.

I can only dream of how much trouble I could have avoided in my life if I wouldn't always offer my "opinion"... Know what I mean?

My mouth is my own worst enemy sometimes - especially when it's been sucking down the tequila.
