I would guess that if during the physical they notice you are overweight they will mention it and suggest a plan for you to deal with that weight. If you say you don't want to be weighed they are sure to mention it and suggest a plan.

Are you really overweight or do you just have a wrong image of what your weight should be based on seeing skinny TV star photos? A physical might be a good time to find out.

I would talk to whoever is weighing you, hopefully a school official and ask them that they keep it confidential, and be honest with them about why.

I think all adults would understand and honor that request.

Taking your weight has to be done to show that they did a medical check for liability. I don't believe there's any way they'd let you out of that. To do that would be the same as saying they didn't do a thorough physical, and put you at risk.

Most likely they will want your weight in case if any medications have to be prescribed etc. They aren't going to give you a hard time they may suggest a better diet, and exercise, but there are many obese people out there, and if you start to reverse it now then you can change and not have to worry about it. Just don't worry about it...the doctor is there to help you not give you a hard time!

No and you're a diva for requesting such.

It's un-likely you'll receive that criticism and even if you did you have to realize that their is such a thing as constructive critisicm basically someone giving you critisicm but it's in order to help you.

Can I get a sports physical without coughing and having my balls examined?
No I can't. And frankly is it all that bad? You're getting weighed for Christ's sakes.

You must get weighed. It is as vital as height, blood pressure, etc. It tells your doctor about your health. Plus, if you need any prescriptions, they have to know your weight to give the right dosage.

Are you talking about a physical at the doctor?
They WILL NOT critisize you-they're doctors. They see every body shape, figure, weight and height.

If it's at school, they will keep it confidential.

Don't be silly, girly! Just go through the motions and get it over with. Really.

Unfortunately not. There is certain information the school needs for insurance purposes and weight plays into your overall health.
