Richard Nixon thought Thompson was an idiot. Nixon was many things, such as paranoid, but he was a smart man and I respect his opinion on this one.

Not that I'm defending him (I'm no Republican), but Thompson has experience as a U.S. senator.
With the precedents set by Ronald Reagan, Jesse Ventura, and Arnold Schwarzenegger, I find it entirely possible to see another actor doing well in U.S. politics and having a plausible chance at the presidency. I don't like it, but I believe it. The fact that actors--people who make a living mouthing words written by others--have a good chance for success says something sad about the U.S. electorate. Why not go all the way in this race to the bottom, Americans? Elect a porn star, as happened in Italy!

He's a puppet just like every other candidate running on either side. I used to consider myself a republican until I realized that the Democrat/Republican label has been reduced to nothing more than a distraction and they all are for the same agenda, they just have different approaches. Im voting Ron Paul. I am tired of being strung along the road of having my civil freedoms revoked!!

Hey, if he'd been Governor of California instead of a Senator he'd be the Second Comming of Ronald Reagan...

Yeah no kidding. Only Army wives and rednecks from the south and southern Ohio will vote for him.
No way for another actor.

Well, if you're a right-wing religious zealot, then a lazy, do-nothing former Congressman/Actor looks like a knight in shining armor compared to your other choices: a Mormon or a socially liberal cross-dresser!

I do. He is a proven conservative that will continue the nation on the path it is on. I am not the only one who believes this as well. There are polls that show him ahead of Hilliary by about 3%. All of this and he has not offically ran yet. That margin will open greatly once he declares himself.

Fred Thompson is a fart in the wind, he is also too far right, supporting Bush and everything, with him running we will have a female president. The GOP doesnt have no one really, I think they are planning a comeback in 2012. Romney believes that people came from the heaven after a war, Guiliani, -need I say more.

He is a former Senator. He is a conservative. He believes in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. All of it. He has my vote. No more RINO liberals.
