My carpet is deep, bright red and my bedding is white with polka dots in pink, blue, and green, but reddish pink is the dominant color in the entire room. My current wall color is pale, pale pink with (gasp!) pale blue doors and closets. There's a wallpaperish border all around the top edge of the room. It's white with what I THINK are red and blue paper airplanes. I'm really not sure who thought of these color combinations, but I hate it. (Well, the bedding I like.) Any way to work around the reddish pink theme? I don't want it to be ALL pink, I was thinking of painting the walls pale orange, would that look okay? Also, I have a silver gooseneck floor lamp by my bed (there are two beds, but I only use one) and another of the same lamp, except I replaced the lampshade with a stripey paper lantern. I'm getting a green paper lantern to hang from the ceiling. Any ideas? Thanks!

Also, I have gray blinds on my windows (3). And I want to add a canopy, but I'm not sure how to make one. Either a canopy or a headboard. Sorry if I'm rambling endlessly with no meaning. And, er, I haven't asked to get my room painted yet, and I'm not sure what my parents will say, but I'm working on it!

I think red, pink, blue and green with gray blinds and green lampshade is bad; but red, pink, blue, and green with gray blinds and orange will be awful!
DO NOT add any more colors!
You are keeping the bedding, correct? Then stay with those color, just in different doses! Can you get rid of the red carpet?
1] get rid of border
2] change blinds to white [ like bedding ] or the wall color
3] what colors are in the stripey paper lantern? If not green, blue, pink, or white, change it!
4] paint walls green, blue, pink, or white. Or do each a different color, with a contrasting trim [ green wall with white trim; blue with pink; white with green; and pink with blue , for example.]
5] paint all walls white, with blue, pink, and green polka dots.
6] paint all walls white with large [ 10" wide ] diagonal stripes of the other colors across each wall.
7] do a focal wall in white, with green, pink, and red vertical stripes. Place head of bed there, and make each of other walls green, pink, or blue. Make a canopy of white mosquito netting.
8] get throw pillows in green, pink, and blue of bedding.
9] add painting with bits of the colors, posters, or pix of friends and family; all in same type or color frames [ I'd do silver, since you already have some in the room. ]
10] add candles, and a plant or vase of flowers that match the colors

yeah the orange would work, try getting some floor rugs to match your beddings and some trow pillows also, as far as the whole bed canopy nowdays they are just going to the headboard canopy where it is just at the head of the bed tyoe thing and not the whole bed, and it only hangs about as wide as a pillow might be from the wall, go to www.hgtv.com they have some really nice bedroom ideas.

I would go with the green on the walls and some pink polka dots on it. And maybe pink blinds. The canopy can be made from fabric attached to your ceiling. good luck to you.
